The 'How well do you know your family tour' is a fun way for you and your family to discover the museum, and the art—and learn even more about each other. All in the company of a tour guide.

FREESTYLE EMBROIDERY WITH DESIRÉE HAMMEN

Are you curious about the unlimited possibilities of needle and thread? Join Desirée Hammen's workshop, discover the magical world of stitches and materials and freestyle with her! Desirée specializes in Haute Couture and Freestyle embroidery. The nice thing about the latter form of embroidery is that everything is possible and allowed: for example, surprising materials, such as found objects, are more than welcome. Together with other participants, you will work on a large embroidery piece, which will be given a place in one of the public areas of the Stedelijk Museum.

Lightlab
Everyday, free of charge, for the whole family
Capture the light with mirrors, dance with colored light, and use your hands, feet and entire body to make shadow art.
In the LightLab, the art is not in the composition of the physical objects on display, but rather in the use of light and shadows. The lab is designed to help you discover how light itself can be art, with the help of mirrors, lamps and your own body. Learn how to create shadows and reflections of various shapes and colors, enlarge and shrink them, and make them dance across the walls and ceiling.
