Sketching in the Sculpture Hall

Every Sunday Morning, 10.30 - 11.00, 11.15 - 11.45, 12.00 - 12.30

Looking carefully at art can be quite a challenge in a busy museum. Feel the need to slow down or to dive deeper? Join us for a 30-minute sketch session and immerse yourself in the art of close looking with hands-on exercises. We offer a supportive space with various ways of sketching through observation and imagination. All eraser-free 😉

The Sculpture Hall, which contains works by Henry Moore, Alexander Calder and Anne Imhof, among others, is located exactly on the spot where there was also a sculpture garden until the beginning of this century.

With Niki Milioni

Do you want to discover how you can show yourself in a new way in a space where you can be completely the way you want to? Step into the creative workspace and photo studio and join the workshop 'Show yourself!'  

Together with Niki you will work with shapes, colors, and feelings in a fun way. You will learn more about yourself and your qualities. Play the dress-up game, make a mask, or make your own design on paper. Finally, have your transformed self photographed to create your own portrait collage to take home.

KIDS Audio Tour

Calling all young art fans!

A clever bird lives in the museum… and so does a strange little creature who has no idea what it is. Join them on a fun quest through the galleries, full of quirky shapes, funny figures and hidden stories. You are welcome to pick up a map at the front desk in the museum and a free audio tour device.

LETTER LAB

Everyday, free of charge, for the whole family

A letter is a code, a key to unlock information. How would your name look if conveyed in art rather than spelled out in letters? What design would you choose to communicate a message? Use the code wheel on the wall to uncover hidden meanings, or design your own space with letters, colors and patterns.

The Letter Lab draws on the work of Karel Martens, and was designed by Koehorst in 't Veld. Unbound, a retrospective of Karel Martens’ work over the past 50 years, is on at the Stedelijk Museum from July to October, 2025.
