The performances sold out in no time, but good news: extra tickets are now available. Don’t miss out!

Known for her immersive installations, video works, and sound-based performances, Norwegian interdisciplinary artist Sandra Mujinga invites you into her world as part of the official Amsterdam Dance Event Arts & Culture programme. On 24 and 25 October, she presents a live sound performance activating her new installation Skin to Skin at the Stedelijk Museum.

Especially for ADE, Sandra Mujinga brings Skin to Skin to life with a live performance that draws on her distinctive sonic and visual vocabulary. Through a live soundscape, she further explores how sound shapes bodily presence and spatial experience. Known for integrating sonic elements into her installations, Mujinga’s sound practice offers a deeper way to engage with the themes of presence, disappearance, and identity that permeate her work.

The installation Skin to Skin transforms the museum’s lower-level gallery into a futuristic landscape filled with 55 towering sculptural figures, sound, and shadows. The figures seem identical at first glance, but as you move through the space, they evoke a sense of transformation, alternate life forms, or a hidden society.

Her ADE sound performance offers a rare opportunity to experience Sandra Mujinga’s artistic universe in a live, immersive setting, where her presence and sound activate the installation in an entirely new way.

By purchasing a ticket to this show, you receive 50% off your next museum visit, where you can explore the museum’s exhibitions featuring Erwin Olaf, Karel Martens, the permanent collection, and more.
