Exhibition — Feb 4 until Mar 3, 2019

Created in 2012, ‘This Variation’, one of the most extensive and complex works from the oeuvre of Tino Sehgal (1976), will be re-enacted in 2019.

During the year-long retrospective in 2015, this work was one of our visitors’ favourite pieces. Recently acquired by the Stedelijk Museum, the work takes place in a completely darkened room. You enter a space where a number of interpreters perform the work, and plunge into an ever-changing and astonishingly sensual landscape. By continually varying form and directing your focus, the artwork puts your senses on high alert, making you feel at times that you are no longer a viewer, but an actor in the piece.

On Sunday March 3, at 8 pm there will be an Artist Talk with Tino Sehgal. This Artist Talk is organized in collaboration with the Goethe Institut Amsterdam and Jacuzzi.
