The award of the 2012 Prize for the Young Art Critic

Location: Teijin Auditorium, Stedelijk Museum
Language: Dutch
Entrance: Visitors only pay entrance to the museum (special discounts apply).

The Prize for the Young Art Critic will be awarded for the third time on Thursday 29 November 2012. During the award ceremony Birgit Donker (director of the Mondrian Foundation) will announce the author who has been selected to write the jury report of the Prix de Rome. Peter Verhelst (chairman of the jury for the 2012 Prize for the Young Art Critic) will award the first and other prizes in the categories for an essay (€ 7,500), review (€ 5,000) and critical piece on the internet  (€ 1,500).

There were also be a mini-debate during the evening with three representatives from national newspapers:

Eric Rinckhout (art editor, de Morgen)
Sandra Smallenburg (art editor, NRC Handelsblad)
Moderator: Ann Demeester (director, de Appel arts centre)

The Prize for the Young Art Critic is an initiative of de Appel arts centre, Mondrian Foundation and Witte de With in collaboration with the Flemish-Dutch Huis deBuren.
