Looking for reflection? Visit the Stedelijk during museumnacht and experience the exhibition Anne Imhof - YOUTH, among others. Combining art, architecture, light and sound, Imhof has transformed the large basement gallery into a labyrinthine total installation that appeals to all the senses. Imhof investigates themes such as identity formation and nihilism. Discover for yourself what this exhibition does to you and what it says about you.

Then, let yourself be transformed into your own digital avatar with artist Tailo Neri or visit ‘What’s the Tea?!’ and share your biggest secret anonymously. Look at yourself from all sides in the 360-spinner photobooth and reflect on the installation At the end of the day by artist Özgür Kar during one of the Blikopeners speed tours. He shows us the influence of mass and social media on our self-image.

Experience the interactive dance installation TANZMANSCHINE by dancer Niek Vanoosterweyck in 15 minutes. Your movements influence the sound and video effects. Niek also provides two live performances.

Or meet talented filmmakers from Nieuw-West and get to know the work of Yto Barrada! The Stedelijk Museum and Cinema De Vlugt join forces during Museum Night. The reason for this is the exhibition of Yto Barrada – Bad Color Combos. In 2006, Barrada founded the Cinémathèque de Tanger, the first art cinema and cultural center in North Africa. Cinema De Vlugt has a similar neighborhood function and offers a continuous program of shorts made by seven talented young makers from Nieuw-West during Museumnacht. There will be busses that take you from the Stedelijk Museum to Cinema De Vlugt.

More about the program can be found here.

Tanzmanschine is made possible by:

Niek Vanoosterweyck in collaboration with Pieter Vandenhoudt, Ignota, Hessel Hilgersom and Titus Duitshof.
