This year, Museum Night at the Stedelijk is inspired by the new collection presentation "1980 - present, Tomorrow is a Different Day". Head on over and discover the classics together with the art of today. Tonight, the museum is the place to party in style. Bring friends, play chess, paint, and sing. Tonight is a Different Night!

At Museum Night, we got loads of surprises in store. Without spoiling the fun, we can drop you a few hints. After a speed tour of the exhibition, get cozy in the Future is Fxmale: Fxmenist Bar for tarot or nail art. Get inspired by diving into the work of architect and designer Afaina de Jong in the Meet the Masters programme. Watch Julianknxx, in collaboration with WePresent, present the third edition of his incredible performance as part of the Black Corporeal Chorus. And dance the night away with the New Originals, filling the entrance hall with the coolest visuals and beats again this year. Are you ready? - Are you obsessed with 'The Queen’s Gambit'? In love with 60s retro? Or a budding chess prodigy? Then tonight is your night! Try your opening strategy at the Hall of Honour. A life-size chess set by TNO and OSCAM awaits you! Defend your king, be bold and who knows, you might be surprised...
- 21:30 – 00:00 WePresent presents Julianknxx’s Black Corporeal: Between This Air
- Poet and Artist Julianknxx takes us through his work with a film screening and performance with a choir from the Netherlands. Working with choirs from all over the world, Julianknxx critically examines the relationship between materiality, and the black psyche. The performance embodies this in a call to breathe. The voices of the choir swell on and off : breathe in, breathe out.
- Meet the Masters: Afaina de Jong
- Searching for inspiration and a creative boost? This is where you need to be! On Museum Night, in the auditorium, Afaina de Jong will share her secrets and inspirations during the monthly Meet the Masters programme. Afaina created the exhibition design for 'Kirchner and Nolde: Expressionism. Colonialism' and also designed the 'Slavery' exhibition in the Rijksmuseum and the Dutch pavilion at the Venice Biennale. She talks about her practice, and creatives from the worlds of art, design, fashion, music, dance, and film reflect on her work. Listen and discover their fascinations.

- Our tour guide in NGT (Dutch sign language) guides you through the Stedelijk collection. Join in and learn more about your favourite artworks. Finish off with a drink in the Zadelhoff Café.
