The Collection Care department focuses on establishing and maintaining optimum conditions for the museum’s collections and objects on loan through the implementation of various preventive conservation measures, such as: environmental monitoring and control, pest management, choosing appropriate materials for storage and display as well as storage and display maintenance.
In order to achieve its preventive conservation goals, the Collection Care department closely collaborates with the Conservation department.
Furthermore, the Collection Care department contributes to the preservation of the museum’s collections by appropriately managing work processes and developing service-wide strategies such as risk management and emergency planning.
