Kiefer's work is full of enigmatic meanings and deeper layers. Yet there are recurring themes to be found; the cycle of nature, the devastation of war, the transience of human existence and the chance of renewal. During this talk, the curators of the exhibition will discuss Kiefer's work and tell us which works of art they find particularly inspiring. Philosopher Ype de Boer will guide the conversation and explain various philosophical themes in Kiefer's work.
After the talk, you can visit the exhibition, first in the Van Gogh Museum and then in the Stedelijk Museum. The Stedelijk Museum is open until 7 p.m.
