Artist Danh Vo is deeply fascinated by plants. In his exhibition, you’ll encounter plants and flowers in many different forms. For example, in the botanical patterns created by designer Josef Frank. In his designs, Frank includes not only real flowers, but also plants he completely invented. Fantasy plants!

In this workshop, you will also invent your own fantasy plant. What do you find beautiful, unusual, ugly, or wonderfully strange? Can you incorporate that into a plant? Maybe your plant has thorns, spots, scales, hairs, or leaves and flowers in bizarre shapes!

And what would your plant be called? Scientists used to give plants Latin names, but you can choose whatever you like: perhaps a name in another language, or one you make up entirely!
