On Wednesday 19 October, Stedelijk Museum & Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) present POLARIS at the official opening ceremony of ADE 2016 on Museum Square.

POLARIS is a large-scale light installation that animates in accordance with our emotional response to music.

At 22.00 sharp POLARIS will be performed live by Fatima Yamaha, Nick Verstand, Nikki Hock, and Children of the Light. During the 25 minute audiovisual experience, 20 participants in the audience will participate in a scientific experiment and wear EEG sensors that directly measure our brainwaves. These measurements and readings are translated to algorithms that indicate emotion. They trigger the installation in real-time, so that artist and audience co-create the piece together.

PERFORMANCE: 22.00 - 22.25
LIVESTREAM: Red Light Radio
ENTRANCE: free for all!
